Today, I continued to work on another musical track for a game that my friend, the one who made the horror game, created awhile back. It is an overview shooter similar to the SNES classic Contra. Since the game is all about shooting and blowing things up, I wanted to create a track that felt upbeat and intense.

I started working on it yesterday and made about 10 seconds worth of content. The song is in a certain key that I like to play a lot on guitar, which is E minor. Therefore, all of the notes and other overlapping melodies are constructed using the notes from that particular key. I spent a lot of time writing and rewriting parts to make sure that they sounded appropriate and flowed well enough in conjunction with the other parts. I also thought it would be interesting to add a synth part to it to really help give it that late 80's/early 90’s vibe to it. After about an hour of working, the track is, as of now, 25 seconds long.

I don’t know if it’s because of how fast and upbeat the track is but I am really excited to continue working on it. I will be showing my friend what I have created so far to see what he’ll think of it.
